In situ infrared study of the absorption of nitric oxide by 12-tungstophosphoric acid

Article Abstract:

The relationship between the commercially available heteropoly acid called 12-tungstophosphoric acid (HPW) and the NOx was examined using a comprehensive in situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (DRIFTS). The objective was to explain the development of NOx decomposition catalyst for practical applications such as combustion exhaust systems. It was revealed that sorbed NOx species was protonated and that NO displaced water during its incorporation into the secondary structure of HPW. The reaction between HPW and NO(g) happened only in the presence of O2(g).

In situ FT-IR study of Rh-Al-MCM-41 catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide with propylene in the presence of excess oxygen

Article Abstract:

The Rh-exchanged Al-MCM-41 catalyst is more active and selective for dinitrogen than the Pt-doped MCM-41 catalyst. This was observed in a study of Rh-exchanged Al-MCM-41 for selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide by C(sub 3)H(sub 6) in the presence of excess oxygen. Specifically, a high activity was found in the conversion of nitric oxide to dinitrogen and nitrogen dioxide at low temperatures. A possible reaction route for nitric oxide reduction by C(sub 3)H(sub 6) is suggested.

A comparison of the interaction of nitric oxide with the heteropolytungstic acids H3PW12O40, H0.5Cs2.5PW12O40, HMgPW12O40, H8SiW11O38, H4SiW12O40, and H10CoW12O42

Article Abstract:

Research into the interaction between nitric oxide and the heteropolytungstic acids H3PW12O40, H0.5Cs2.5PW12O40, HMgPW12O40,H8SiW11O38, H4SiW12O40 and H10CoW12O42 in the presence of O2(g) is presented. It was established that NO chemisorbed weakly on the surface of the anhydrous HCsPW.
