Article Abstract:
Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of a surfactant squarylium are prepared to investigate formation of H aggregates, which are characterized by blue-shifted sharp absorption bands. The aggregate formation seems to influence the nonradiative decay of excited dyes on metals by coupling with surface plasmon polaritons, which affects the efficiency of photoelectric conversion.

Article Abstract:
The high-pressure treatment of C60 in an H2 atmosphere at high temperatures leads to the efficient formation of a covalently bound dimer and some oligomeric species. The results indicate a much stronger bonding between the (C60Hx)(sub 2) units than present in cycloaddition products.

Article Abstract:
Hydrogen-bonded materials exhibit a variety of phase transition phenomena. The order-disorder characters of the phase transitions in 1-d and 2-d are investigated by the single-crystal H(super 2) NMR experiments.
