Article Abstract:
The electrochemical formation of nanocrystalline Sb2Te3 thin films on a Pt substrate through the route of electrochemical atomic layer epitaxy (ECALE) and the electrochemical behavior of Te and Sb on Pt, Te on Sb-covered Pt, and Sb on Te-covered Pt are described. The optical band gap of the deposited Sb2Te3 film is determined as 0.42 eV by FTIR spectroscopy and it is blueshifted in comparison with that of the bulk Sb2Te3 single crystal because of its nanocrystalline microstructure.

Article Abstract:
A rotating electrode is used to examine the electrodeposition of [Bi.sub.2][Te.sub.3] nanowires into alumina templates. The agitation of bath by a rotating electrode not only provides a nearly constant supply of electrolyte to the electrode surface but also increases the wire growing rate and hence as a consequence, the ordered and uniform [Bi.sub.2][Te.sub.3] nanowires array can be obtained efficiently with our rotating electrode.

Article Abstract:
High-density large-area nanowire arrays of thermoelectric material Sb2Te3 are successfully prepared in a study using electrochemical deposition into the channels of the porous anodic alumina membrane (PAAM). Results indicate Sb2Te3 nanowire arrays are dense, parallel, and large-area, with 100% of the pores of the PAAM templates filled.
