Article Abstract:
An experiment to determine the growth of ZnS nanoparticles by precipitation from supersaturated aqueous solution by stopped-flow UV absorption spectroscopy is conducted. The observations of the average size, size distribution and concentration of the particles within the sub-second time regime with a resolution of 1.28ms shows that the early stages of ZnS nanoparticle growth is regulated by ripening processes both for stoichiometric and nonstoichiometric educt concentrations and the initial sulfide concentration strongly influences the growth kinetics than the initial zinc concentration.

Article Abstract:
The adsorption state of HCl at 20 and 90 K on crystalline water ice films deposited under ultrahigh vacuum at 150 K is investigated in a study using X-ray absorption spectroscopy at the O1s K-edge and Cl2p L-edge. It is seen that HCl dissociates at temperatures as low as 20 K, in agreement with the prediction of a spontaneous ionization of HCl on ice.

Article Abstract:
The screening and optimization of Fe(super III) - based adsorbents are done for arsenic adsorption from 0.2 to 16 ppm test solutions of arsenite/arsentic. The speciation of As adsorbed was performed by As K-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) combined with high-energy resolution fluorescence spectrometry.
