EUROPE: HALOX BOOSTS PIGMENT SALES WITH ERBSLOH

Halox Pigments, the US pigment producer based in Hammond, Indiana, has signed an agreement with the German company C. H. Erbsloh. The Krefeld-based chemicals trader will market the anti-corrosion pigments of the US company in the German-speaking region from the beginning of April 2000. In Austria, Switzerland and Poland, Halox will be represented by Erbsloh subsidiaries.

CHINA: DEGUSSA TO BOOST OPERATIONS

Article Abstract:

Degussa AG is to set up a holding in Beijing company for its operations in China, where it employs more than 700 staff and generates an annual turnover of about EUR 210mn. The German Dusseldorf-based chemical group's operations in China include filling systems, pigments, construction chemical and feed additives. According to chairman Utz-Hellmuth Felcht, Degussa aims to raise the share of turnover generated in Asia to 25% in the medium term from 12% at present.
