EPR spectroscopy of Cu(I)-NO adsorption complexes formed over Cu-ZSM-5 and Cu-MCM-22 zeolites

Article Abstract:

The Cu(I)-NO adsorption complexes were formed over copper exchanged and autoreduced high siliceous Cu-ZSM-5 and Cu-MCM-22 zeolites in a study and examined by EPR spectroscopy at X-,Q-, and W-band frequencies. The spin Hamiltonian parameters of the Cu(I)-NO species indicate a nitrogen-centered radical complex with a bent geometry and a significant contribution of the Cu(I) 4s atomic orbital to the wave function of the unpaired electron.

Characterization of the metal-organic framework compound Cu3(benzene 1,3,5-tricarboxylate)2 by means of [(super)129Xe] nuclear magnetic and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

[(super)129Xe] NMR measurements of adsorbed xenon are demonstrated for the first time to be a suitable tool to characterize the porosity and the properties of the metal-organic framework Cu3(BTC)2(H2O)3. Results reveal that in dependence on the king of the synthesis pathway either one or two signals are observed which could be attributed to two kinds of fast exchange of xenon atoms in two pores with different pore sizes.

Stearic acid spin labels in lipid bilayers: insight through atomistic simulations

Article Abstract:

Large-scale molecular dynamics simulations are used for examining the position and behavior of nitroxide spin labels attached to stearic acid molecules in dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) bilayers. The results have shown that spin-label molecules are able to make flip-flop transitions between the leaflets of the bilayer for a non-ionized species.
