Direct synthesis of highly crystalline and monodisperse manganese ferrite nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

Highly crystalline and monodisperse manganese ferrite nanocrystals were synthesized via the thermal decomposition of metal-surfactant complexes followed by mild chemical oxidation. Electron diffraction, X-ray diffraction, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images confirmed the high crystallinity of the manganese ferrite nanocrystals and elemental analysis and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy confirmed that the molar ratio of Mn:Fe was 1:2.

Effects of interparticle interactions upon the magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 and MnFe2O4 nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The study investigates the effect of interparticle interactions upon the magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 and MnFe2O4 nanoparticles via the systematic dilution of nanoparticle in eicosane. It concludes that the blocking temperature for both spinel ferrite systems decreased with dilution that is decreased interparticle interactions.

Determination of magnetic anisotropy distribution and anisotropy constant of manganese spinel ferrite nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

A demonstration on the combination of SQUID magnetometry and Mossbauer spectroscopy is presented in the quantitative characterization of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant for a cobalt spinel ferrite CoFe2O4 nanoparticulate system. Further, the fundamental properties of MnFe2O4 nanoparticles are elucidated.
