Article Abstract:
A new method for determining the effective rate constant of diffusion-controlled oxygen scavenging reactions in reactive polymer membranes with finite reactive capacity is proposed. The method is based on rapid homogeneous scavenger activation throughout the membrane and measurement of transient oxygen flux through the membrane with fixed boundary conditions according to standardized testing procedures.

Article Abstract:
The interaction of water with the O-ZnO surfaces is a part of a longer term project to study the interaction of small molecules with ZnO surfaces is described. The results obtained here for the adsorption probability of water on the clean O-ZnO surface clearly point toward the existence of a precursor state into which the H2O molecules are trapped before dissociation.

Article Abstract:
Continuous wave and pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance studies were performed on the superoxide ion, O2(super -), encaged in the nanoporous crystal 12CaO.7Al2O3 (Cl2A7). Hyperfine splitting due to (super 17)O in O2(super -) was observed in C12A7 heated in 40% (super 17)O-enriched O2 gas at 550 degree Celsius.
