Configurations of benzene and pyridine molecules adsorbed on graphitic surface of microporous carbon

Article Abstract:

The possible configurations of benzene and pyridine molecules adsorbed in microporous carbon were analyzed by synchrotron-radiation-excited soft X-ray emission spectroscopy and by analyzing its spectral features using DV-Xalpha molecular orbital calculations. The adsorption of benzene and pyridine molecules in the microporous carbon can be confirmed to be physisorption, and there is little charge-transfer between the adsorbed molecules and the graphitic surface.

Transferable potentials for phase equilibria. 7. Primary, secondary, and tertiary amines, nitroalkanes and nitrobenzene, nitriles, amides, pyridine, and pyrimidine

Article Abstract:

The transferable potentials for phase equilibria force fields are extended to amine, nitro, nitrile, and amide functionalities and to pyridine and pyrimidine. Stimulations in the Gibbs ensemble were applied to neat amine, nitromethane, nitroethane, nitrobenzene, acetonitrile, propionitrile, acetamide, propanamide, butanamide, pyridine, and pyrimidine.

Adlayer structures of benzene and pyridine molecules on Cu(100) in solution by ECSTM

Article Abstract:

Adsorption of benzene (C6H6) and pyridine (C5H5N) on Cu(100) is investigated in electrolyte solution by using cyclic voltammetry and in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Structural models are proposed to interpret the bonding and coordination of the two molecules with Cu(100) surface.
