Article Abstract:
The enthalpy of micelle formation for binary mixed surfactants systems from the titration calorimetry of the aqueous solution of the nonionic surfactant mixture was obtained by developing and using thermodynamic equations. It is seen that the pentaethylene glycol monooctyl ether-(C8E5) and pentaethylene glycol monodecyl ether-(C10E5) molecules are ideally mixed in the micelle and hence the excess entropy of mixed micelle formation of the C10E5-C8E4 system is positive.

Article Abstract:
The phase behavior of a mixed surfactant system of tetradecyldimethylamine oxide hemihydrochloride C14DMAO.1/2HCl (i.e. alpha = 0.5) in the presence of NaNphS is reported. The results reveal that the addition of NaNphS to micellar solutions of C14DMAO.1/2HCl produced vesicles spontaneously, in contrast with the case of the full-ionized C14DMAO.1/2HCl-NaNphS system.

Article Abstract:
Kinetics and particle size distributions in spontaneous micelle-vesicle transformation of oleate vesicles are studied by dynamic light scattering and optical density measurements. The theoretical model developed has the characteristics of great simplicity; and despite this, it is possible to describe the cooperative mechanism of autocatalytic growth vesicles.
