Boundary layer chemistry probed by in situ infrared spectroscopy during SiO2 deposition at atmospheric pressure from tetraethylorthosilicate and ozone

Article Abstract:

The deposition of silicon dioxide films at 450 degree Celsius was studied in quasi real time by probing the thermally activated boundary layer region near the growing surface during atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition. Potential tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS)/O3 reaction products are investigated in an attempt to clarify the reaction mechanism leading to the observed silanol deposition intermediates and delineate the film formation process.

Formation of nonclassical carbonyls of Au(super 3+) in zeolite NaY: Characterization by infrared spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Characterization of CO adsorption on a Au/zeolite NaY sample prepared from the precursor Au(super 3+) [CH(sub 3)](sub 2) [C(sub 5) H(sub 7)O(sub 2)] is reported. When a CO molecule is already adsorbed, it stabilizes the Au(super 3+) ion in the new position, and a second CO molecule can be coordinated, thus forming a geminal species.

Dynamic of Co in mesoporous silica monitored by time-resolved step-scan and rapid-scan FT-IR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

A study monitored carbon monoxide molecules generated in the channels of mesoporous MCM-41 silica sieve from a precursor by photodissociation with a nanosecond laser pulse. A very broad absorption of CO is observed in the region 2200-2080 [cm.sup.-1] at room temperature that decays in a biphasic mode.
