Ag nanocrystal junctions as the site for surface-enhanced Raman scattering of single Rhodamine 6G molecules

Article Abstract:

AFM measurements are presented that demonstrate that the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active particles are compact aggregates consisting of two or more 50 nm Ag particles. The distance between the nanocrystals decreases, the coupled plasmon resonance shifts to the red, the enhanced electromagnetic field increases in the junction between the particles, and destructive interference of the fields occurs at other points in space.

Ultrafast dephasing of single nanoparticles studied by two-pulse second-order interferometry

Article Abstract:

Two-pulse second-order interferometry is used for studying the ultrafast dephasing and the two-pulse second-order interferometric autocorrelation responses of single silver (Ag) nanoparticles. The study indicates that in single Ag colloids, the total dephasing time of the surface plasmon is 10 fs.

Single molecule Raman spectroscopy at the junctions of large Ag nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

New spectral depolarization data for single molecule rhodamine 6G scattering is presented. The wavelength-dependent properties of a hybrid molecular-metallic wave function as the Raman resonant state is outlined.
