Article Abstract:
A three-pulse photon echo peak shift measurement on the light-harvesting complex II of the green algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is presented. The dynamics of energy redistribution within the Chl-b absorption band before energy transfer to the Chl-a pigments is considered.

Article Abstract:
Generalization of Forster's theory is used for developing a framework within which energy transfer in molecular assemblies can be modeled quantitatively. Results indicate that the adsorption and emission spectra do not reveal the principles involved in optimization of energy transfer in confined molecular assemblies as such spectra are insensitive to length scales on the order of molecular dimensions.

Article Abstract:
A generalization of the Forster theory, which is developed for calculating electronic energy transfer (EET) in molecular aggregates is applied to wild-type and mutant bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers (RCs) from Rhodobacter (Rb) sphaeroides and wild-type RC from Rhodopseudomonas (Rps.) viridis. Results indicate that the weak-coupling mechanism could be responsible for the promotion of EET dynamics in the RC.
