Article Abstract:
The synthesis and characterization of the linear and nonlinear optical properties of benzothiazolo[2,3-b]oxazolidine acidochromes by using hyper-Rayleigh scattering and quantum chemical calculations are presented. The results have shown that the benzothiazolium acceptor is more effective than the indoleninium one and the elongation of ethylenic bridging unit to a 2,5-diethenylthiophene has increased the nonlinear optical (NLO) response of the protonated open form (POF) by a factor of 6.

Article Abstract:
The cubic structures found in a brine(NaCl)/toluene/SDS/butanol ionic system containing oil and water in equal volumes is reported. The structures deducted from Rietveld refinements of X-ray powder diffraction patterns and freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy observation corresponds to an aqueous bilayer of finite thickness that separates the oil nanophase into polyhedral cells.

Article Abstract:
The dynamic behavior of water within two types of ionomer membranes, Nafion and sulfonated Polyimide, is investigated by field-cycling nuclear magnetic relaxation. The results have shown the ability of NMR dispersion technique to determine specific transport mechanism of water molecules associated with wetting or nonwetting properties of the polymer backbone.
