Article Abstract:
Strategic planning is critical to any organization and business concerns within the crop protection industry are not exempted from this practice. For instance, a major crop chemical firm prepared a 10-year plan which, like any well prepared strategy, began with what the company perceived to be its major challenges. The plan went on to detail ways by which the enterprise and the industry could change and adapt to effectively address these challenges. What is surprising about the document is that it was written in 1985, yet it appears to have been written for 2000 and the years thereafter.
