Article Abstract:
The dispersion process of Ag nanoparticles into vapor-deposited nylon 11 thin films caused by heat treatment is investigated wherein the optical transmission and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) reflection absorption spectroscopy are used independently for characterizing the changes in the surface plasmon resonance response of Ag nanoparticles. The peak wavelength of the plasmon band shifts to shorter wavelength in the temperature range 40-80 degree C is observed.

Article Abstract:
The isotherms of Pd thin films with a nominal thickness of 10-200 nm are determined electrochemically and a demonstration that the isotherms change dramatically as a function of the layer thickness is presented. For the 200 nm thick Pd electrode, a flat two-phase coexistence plateau is found, whereas for Pd thin films with a thickness of 10 nm, the transformation plateau has vanished, indicating the absence of a two-phase coexistence region.

Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate the formation of nanowires from films consisting of two or three layers of different polymers to examine the means of control for the self-assembling behavior of the resultant nanowires. Octopus-like nanostructures consisting of a tangled hydrophilic polymer core and splayed hydrophobic polymer segments were successfully produced as an example of the process.
