Article Abstract:

David Greenberg, an architect always dreamt of a carefully designed and engineered, eco-friendly island dwelling, close to the nature. Now, Greenberg has announced a competition for architects to propose idea for an island resort to be built among the coconut palm trees on a remote beach and among the 500 entries received 100 have been selected for display at Los Angeles's Pacific Design center.

The artistic work of Alex Rich, a Welsh designer settled in Tokyo is critically reviewed. His various designs constitute 'gentle interventions', which are so self-effacing that they are hardly noticed by people, but just as new music requires a new kind of listening, Rich's work requires a change in the way people listen and look.
