Article Abstract:
A structured and systematic decision-making tool, developed as a joint industrial/academic project, is useful in examining job designs, and for developing new ones to meet organizational and individual needs. The tool is designed, especially, for organizations using computer based systems and is developed in a series of phases. The tool is useful in evaluating the usability of an operational system, and helps in determining the quality of human-computer interface and interaction, by examining the behavior of users using a standard set of checklists.

Article Abstract:
The results of performance test batteries implemented on different hardware and software are comparable if the results are corrected for reliability attenuation. The Automated Performance Test System, written in N82-BASIC, is performed on a NEC laptop and its DELTA version written in TurboC is performed on a Compaq laptop. Although the performance of the Compaq is better, the tests show a correlation of 0.92 to 1.00. The tests measure similar variables and the results of one system can be normalized for another by bias adjustment.

Article Abstract:
An evaluation and prediction method for measuring computer usability is analyzed. The technique uses the device independent and computer independent information measures as compared to task processing and completion times to determine the expected usability of computer software and devices. Experimentation on three computer systems using ten graphs shows that the method is viable.
