Foreign proteins are selectively and transiently expressed by poliovirus replicon in motor neurons of the anterior horn of the spinal cord.Mice were inoculated intraspinally with the poliovirus receptor (PVR) with replicons encoding murine tumor becrosis factor alpha (mTNF-alpha)

AAV muscles ahead

Article Abstract:

Scientists from the Stanford University and ARIAD Pharmaceuticals compared adeno-associated viral (AAV) and adenoviral vectors and used both to transfect muscle cells of mice using a rapamycin-inducible gene expression system. The AAV vector was shown to be more stable in human growth hormone synthesis.
