The unemployment rate decreased to the level of 8% again after two years

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: The unemployment rate has been decreasing since the beginning of 2001. The rate was 8.1% in May 2001 compared to 8.3% at the end of Apr 2001. There were 420,578 persons interested in jobs registered at job offices at the end of May 2001, 12,247 less compared to Apr 2001 and 33,265 less than in May 2000. The lowest unemployment rate was in Prague, Benesov, Pelhrimov and Mlada Boleslav, 2-2.3%. The highest unemployment rate was in the Most district, nearly 21%.

Predplatne tisku (PT) (Prague, Czech Republic), daily and magazine distributor, has a new strategic partner. The partner is F-LOG (Germany), which has acquired a 51% stake in PT. PT has more than a 75% share on the domestic market in the field of the delivery of dailies and magazines. PT's co-proprietor is Vydavatelsky holding (Czech Republic), which is represented by the publishers Mafra (Prague, Czech Republic) and Economia (Prague, Czech Republic).
