Article Abstract:

Twelve newspaper executives offer their views on why the credibility of newspapers in the US is declining. For instance, Marti Buscaglia, VP for market development at St Paul Pioneer Press, is disturbed by public perception that newspapers publish sensational stories without checking the facts first, just to increase circulation. On the other hand, Sheri Dill, VP for marketing at the Wichita Eagle, says newspaper credibility is falling because of newspapers' lack of respect for their communities.

Sunday issue brings together two communities each week

The marketing campaign behind the Mid-Valley Sunday, the name of the Sunday edition of the Corvallis Gazette-Times, is aimed at maintaining awareness of the Sunday newspaper that is delivered to the readership of two local daily newspapers based in Albany and Corvallis, both in New York. The campaign, aside from focusing on the expanded coverage, also dwells on the story of two local newspapers working for the improvement of the bigger community.

Property Assessment Guide is new product for community

Article Abstract:

The Worchester Telegram and Gazette newspaper has released its 1999 Worchester Property Assessment Guide on Aug 31, 1999. The guide, which which was distributed with the daily edition of the newspaper, contains over 100 pages of taxable real property assessments in the city of Worchester, MA. Additional copies of the Worchester Property Assessment Guide were made available beginning on the next day for $2.50 each.
