Article Abstract:
Several trends in telemarketing are keeping the industry from reaching its full potential. For one, quality of telephone selling varies because of companies which do not understand the differences between field sales and telephone sales. Also, legislation designed to impose certain regulations on telemarketing is gaining momentum in several states. Resulting from concern over illegal scams, the laws include taxing telemarketers and registration of telemarketing representatives. The main reason for these problems is a lack of human resources investment at all levels, resulting from attempts at keeping costs down. Telemarketers need to work together to help address these concerns.

Article Abstract:
The use of international toll-free telephone numbers can help many businesses stay in touch. Although business is facilitated by the toll-free number, it is unclear whether these numbers increase sales or not. However, the toll-free numbers definitely increase competitiveness. There are problems with overseas 800 calling, since often the service is weak and direct dialing alternatives have on occasion been necessary, although re-dialing the 800 number works frequently when initial connections are not good.
