Unitech, a power supplies concern, should help boost Siebe's results including its sales growth when Unitech is integrated into Siebe which is to be carried out in two phases. Siebe's profit is forecast at 425 million pounds sterling for 1996 to 1997, rising to 495 million pounds for 1997 to 1998.

Siebe reported a rise in pre-tax profit for the six months to Sep 30 1996, aided by five months' contribution from Unitech. Siebe Control Systems reported strong sales growth and Siebe's two principal divisions increased profits by almost a fifth. Siebe and Unitech's operations are being merged which will create a leader in the world market for electronic power controls. Siebe's profit is forecast at some 430 million pounds sterling for 1996 to 1997.
