Rainforest Cafe opens largest site

Rainforest Cafe has opened its newest branch at Walt Disney Co's Animal Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The new Florida unit is a 34,000 sq-ft, free-standing restaurant and retail adventure. Restaurant exteriors feature cascading waterfalls and a 300-ft long flowing aqua mountain. The interiors feature, among other novelties, lush vegetation, live tropical parrots, simulated thunder and lightning, rain showers and majestic rock formations.

OfficeMax opens prototype PDQ store

Article Abstract:

Stationery and office supply store chain OfficeMax has launched its so- called 'PDQ' concept store in Woodmere, OH. The branch measures 7,500 sq- ft and is about one-third the size of the company's superstores. It offers a full-service CopyMax hub and over 3,000 office products as compared to more than 8,000 in a full-size Officemax superstore. OfficeMax PDQ stores also market more than 20,000 products through an electronic kiosk.

Ulta opens prototype store, salon, spa, and cafe

Article Abstract:

Ulta Cosmetics, Fragrance and Salon has opened a 10,000-sq-ft prototype store in Irving, TX, that houses the whole collection of Ulta signature cosmetics, which are available for sampling. The store has a cafe, salon and spa and was designed by New York, NY-based Fitzpatrick Design Group to create an upscale image. It features individual stations that are internally lit underneath.
