Public approval of plant and animal biotechnology in South Korea: an ordered probit analysis

Article Abstract:

The article discusses a study carried out to analyze predictors of public acceptance in South Korea with regard to the use of biotechnology to create genetically modified plant- and animal-based food products. Results showed that younger, urban, liberal and affluent South Korean consumers were more likely to approve use of biotechnology to create foods based on plant and animal products.

Consumer beliefs and attitude towards genetically modified food: basis for segmentation and implications for communication

Article Abstract:

Four consumer segments were identified based on survey results of Belgian consumer's beliefs and attitudes towards genetically modified food. The segments are established as, positive, negative, neutral and reluctant. Implications for the formulation of effective communication strategies to improve consumer understanding, are provided.
