Article Abstract:

A company can borrow infection control techniques from the medical profession when setting up an in-house computer virus combatting program. The program should be administered by a dedicated group of professionals drawn from a multi-disciplinary background within a company. A special adviser with extensive knowledge in the field should also be appointed to oversee the committee and to report directly to the board. The systems infection control program should focus on the surveillance, reporting, prevention, control, and containment of computer viruses.
