PDA sales are taking off

Article Abstract:

A study done NPD Intelect shows that sales of personal digital assistants (PDAs) during the first half of 2000 have matched total sales for 1999. The report adds that PDA sales would more than double by the end of 2000, reaching $406.9 million in value. A key factor in the sales growth of PDAs is the appeal of these devices to consumers. PDAs were initially geared for professionals but manufacturers are positioning them to the consumer market, with such new models as Palm's affordable M series and the new Claudia Schiffer Palm.
