Let (Kunovice, Czech Republic), small transport aeroplane manufacturer, should find a new owner by the end of Jun 2001. Nine investors have shown an interest in the purchase of the bankrupt firm. Let's designing centre is completing the project of the cargo aeroplane Loadmaster. The project was taken over by the consortium of FedEx, GTX and Honeywell from Let's former owner Ayers (US). Let has about 1,000 employees currently. Its production goes on. The firm realizes mainly co-operation jobs, the repair of aeroplanes and the production of gliders.

Aero Vodochody (Odolena Voda, Czech Republic), military aircraft manufacturer, increased its proceeds to CEK 6.269 bil in 2000, according to preliminary results. The sum is 113% higher compared to 1999. The firm's proceeds totalled CEK 2.946 bil in 1999. The company saw a loss of CEK 1.2 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 2.1 bil in 1999. Most of the 2000 proceeds were generated by the supplies of the fighter aircraft L-159 for the army.

The offer for the purchase of the company will be given to about 25 investors including aircraft firms and financial investors. The main condition of the sale of Let will be the keeping of aircraft production. The buyer of Let should be chosen by the end of 2001.
