Article Abstract:
The strategic problems of transfer pricing that occur when trust, the structure of bargaining, relation-specific investment and complementarities in organizational design affect trading relationships are analyzed and their implications for agribusiness value chains studied. A transfer pricing policy should generally be judged in terms of its ability to positively affect chain profits and the notion of conflicts over pricing schemes as well as the time required to arrive at a fair price.

The demand and consumption of meat products in the United States is studied, using data from 1976 to 2000, within the framework of generic advertising factors and non advertising-related health information. Analysis indicates a negative effect of advertising.
