Article Abstract:
UK homeowners will have more need to take out mortgage protection insurance since state help for homeowners has been reduced. Claimants with new mortgages will not receive help for the first nine months of their claim. Some people in high-risk occupations may find that they have to pay higher premiums. The self-employed can find cover with some companies, as can some people on contracts lasting a fixed period. Cover is likely to cost more and be more difficult to obtain for people in the most precarious position in their employment.

Article Abstract:
Jersey trust law has been updated since Jersey competes for business with other financial centers offshore. Purpose trusts are not used in the UK and are a new development in Jersey. Jersey does not have a shelf company system, and authorities have to be notified as to who is involved in the company. Jersey professionals have taken a view of charges that is more structured than seen in the UK, and fixed amount pricing has become more common.
