Model future: business intelligence software is giving finance directors the time and space to think about the future

Article Abstract:

A growing number of finance executives are relying on business intelligence software to ease their workload and improve information management. One of the problems that most of these executives face is dealing with the large amounts of performance measurement data produced by enterprise resource planning systems in the absence of reporting and analysis tools for making such data comprehensible. Business intelligence software enables the financial department to gain greater control over analysis and reporting while reducing the amount of effort these tasks usually require. Another advantage offered by analysis and reporting packages is that they allow financial personnel to make changes to the analysis without much difficulty.
