Article Abstract:

In 1998, U.S. Congress passed the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act (CETA), which increased the duration of existing and future copyrights an additional 20 years to a maximum of 70 years. Due to this extension the cartoons of Mickey Mouse still belongs to Disney. The regulation of commercial agency relationships in Europe is presented.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Kellogg USA waited too long to sue Exxon Corp. over copyright infringement in using a cartoon tiger, while the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled West Coast Entertainment's use of a Web site infringed on the copyright of a site established by Brookfield Communications, Inc.
