Czech Republic: The volume of prescribed life insurance was CEK 6.8 bil for 1Q 2001, 27% more compared to 1Q 2000. The growth has been connected with tax reliefs since the beginning of 2001. According to the Czech Association of Insurance Companies, the prescription of all the kinds of premiums increased by 2% to CEK 24.6 bil for 1Q 2001 compared to 1Q 2000. Further growth of life insurance is expected. Ceska pojistovna (Czech Republic) remains the leader of the market before Kooperativa (Czech Republic) and Allianz pojistovna (Czech Republic).

The contract regards the equipment of the bed part of the hospital in North Glamorgan, the UK. The company will deliver 584 beds Praktika with a four-part loading area and electrical positioning equipment to the hospital. The firm saw a profit of nearly CEK 18.2 mil under proceeds of nearly CEK 500 mil in 2000. In 1999 Linet saw a profit of CEK 30 mil.

Zeas (Stare Hradiste, Czech Republic), agricultural company, saw a gross profit of nearly CEK 1.34 mil in 2000, CEK 1.08 mil more compared to 1999. The firm should transfer CEK 236,000 from the 2000 profit to its social fund and CEK 1.1 mil to its reserve fund. Its total revenues were CEK 119 mil in 2000, nearly CEK 780,000 more compared to 1999. ZEAS has a stock of more than CEK 67 mil.
