Article Abstract:
Jihoceske mlekarny (JM) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), the largest domestic milk products company, saw a profit of CEK 12.7 mil in 2000. The company will not pay dividends from the profit. Reasons are disputes with the state Agricultural Interventional Fund, which did not give export subsidies of CEK 200 mil to JM for the reason of the breach of the rules of market regulation in 1999. JM wants to get the sum by action in court. JM will use the profit for the formation of business risk reserves. In 2000 the firm saw proceeds of CEK 6.1 bil. JM plans to change its name to Madeta (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic). The firm's decisive shareholders are the State Supporting and Guarantee Agricultural Fund with a 36% stake, the trade company KHV (Czech Republic) with a 30% stake and Spojene kartacovny (Pelhrimov, Czech Republic) with a 19% stake.
