Hedging your fund bets

Article Abstract:

Hedging can provide protection against currency movements but can also be expensive and contrary movements in the market can eliminate the benefits. Excessive hedging turns a fund into a hedge fund with speculative elements. General funds can allocate assets over a wide range and take currency movements into account.
