Article Abstract:
Two entries won Best of Category for furniture in the 39th Annual Design Review: the Zip-Light, designed by Sigmar Willnauer of Goods!, and the Kinderlink children's furniture designed by Bashir Zivari. Judges most liked designs with unusual combinations of features; many entries had two or more functions. There was an apparent trend to warmer looks, and another catering to the small apartment dweller. A broad range of winners included lighting, stackable furniture, textiles, a chaise lounge, and innovative chairs and tables for home and office use.

Article Abstract:
An exhibition of different furniture designs was conducted. Various designs which totaled to almost 230 entries were examined by jurors Ivan Luini, Mickael McCoy and Donald Brinkman. The 'Meda Chair' entry received the 'best of category' citation. It was chosen due to its precise engineering and industrial beauty which the jurors did not find in other entries. Alberto Meda of Milan designed the 'Meda Chair.'
