A conditional marker gene allowing both positive and negative selection in plants

Article Abstract:

A conditional marker gene called dao1, which encodes D-amino acid oxidase can be utilized for positive or negative selection depending on the substrate. The conditional marker was proved to be versatile, capable of providing rapid and unambiguous results, thus enabling selection immediately after germination.
