Electronic commerce has become more sophisticated with a number of companies using new applications. Improvements in e-commerce on the buy-side include automation of purchasing, streamlining of approval processes and removal of purchasing intermediaries while sell-side improvements include better availability of company products and services usually in the form of electronic catalogs.
