Article Abstract:
Prolonged sitting can result in the selling of the lower extremities, but repeated walking breaks or dynamic tiltable foot-rests have been found to reduce oedema. A study undertook to establish any beneficial effects from office chairs that incorporate tilt mechanisms facilitating movements of the body from the feet up. Locked seat mechanism do not prevent activation of the vein pump mechanism, but it is indicated that those that allow variation in sea angle per se can stimulate movements of the leg.

Article Abstract:
An experiment aimed to determine the pressure distribution at the seat/operator interface, for seat pan and back-rest profiles for tractor drivers in a static condition. Sitting posture was affected by the length of the operator's physique, and seat pan curvature and subject's weight have a significant affect on pressure distribution. Back-rest curvature and inclination also have a significant affect on pressure distribution.

Article Abstract:
The possibility that vigilance decrement may be modulated by temporal luminance fluctuations of the monitor screen was investigated. The results suggest that a severe control of the luminance levels of stimuli displayed on a cathode-ray tube (CRT) monitor screen is required to prevent temporal variations in luminance.
