The research staff of the Rotterdam, Netherlands-based evening newspaper 'NRC Handelsblad' uses creative methods to gather their information. On one occasion, they opted to retain the services of research agency Motivaction to film roughly more than 20 readers as they perused NRC Handelsblad at home. The video was part of a systematic readership survey. Its results proved to be extremely confrontational for some of the news editors. However, the video and the survey, overall, led to a redesigned front page format.
