Crown, Carnaud merger would be a jewel of a deal

Article Abstract:

Crown Cork and Seal Company Inc. offered to buy CarnaudMetalBox in June 1995 for $5.25 billion in cash and debt. The proposed merger would create the largest packaging company in the world with the capacity to provide the full range of packaging services to global corporations. Crown Cork and Seal Company derives 80% and 20% of its revenues from the US and Europe, respectively, while CarnaudMetalBox derives 80% and 20% of its revenues from Europe and the US, respectively.

Bureau's Sind ready to move

Article Abstract:

New Trade Show Bureau CEO Steven A. Sind has announced plans to move the organization's headquarters to Washington, DC, to enhance its ability to promote the exhibition industry. Sind stated that there was a need to make marketers and other entities more aware of the beneficial impact trade shows can have on the marketing mix. Industry executives have lauded Sind's efforts, saying that the bureau was finally taking steps to promote the marketing benefits of trade shows.

Expomark pushing trade-show audit revival despite obstacles

Article Abstract:

Expomark is leading the way in marketing the trade show industry on the value of audits. Since its launch in 1996, this subsidiary of the Audit Bureau of Circulations has audited more than 100 shows. However, the lack of awareness of exhibitors on the importance of auditing has threatened the development of the industry. In response, several auditing firms, spearheaded by Expomark, have created plans to educate the public on auditing.
