Brimex is a private sector Romanian company involved mainly in importing and distribution. The company began importing pharmaceuticals and chemicals, and also has an agreement with Chrysler. Brimex has also leased 7,000 hectares to grow vegetables and fruit, and aims to increase land cultivated. The company has started animal breeding, and aims to distribute fertilizers. Brimex acts as a distributor for Nestle and is studying a plan to expand into car rentals.

More clarity, less credit

Article Abstract:

Inchcape plans to change its accounting practices relating to credt finance which suppliers provide. The group's previous practices tended to underrepresent borrowing levels. Inchcape also plans to slim its activities in Asia Pacific where the group is involved in too many businesses which tend not to be very large. The operation will cost the group 55 million pounds sterling in 1997 with 13 million pounds of this shown in results for 1st half 1997.
