Banks as information specialists: the case of hospital lending
Article Abstract:
The link between bank loans and profitable hospital operations was investigated to determine if banks enjoy informational advantages over direct lenders. The results showed that the profitability of public and non-accredited hospitals was directly related to their reliance on bank loans. This indicated that banks often have access to information not normally available to other lenders.

Financial Innovation, Multinational Banking, and Monetary Policy
Article Abstract:
Domestic monetary policy tools are found to be effective in spite of multinational bank influence. The control bank is advised to keep control of the monetary base; financial and technical innovation provide the domestic banks with fluid service capability. Multinational banking shows little impact on domestic liquidity, output and prices.
