Analytically enhancing customer retention at Prudential

Article Abstract:

Prudential Insurance Company of America implemented a customer retention program in 1997 aimed at making the life insurance company more focused on its customers. It formed a multidisciplinary team known as the 'Voice of the Customer' to foster customer focus across the company. More attention was given in identifying customer needs and behavior. Prudential also put up a Customer Management organization tasked with retaining the existing customer base. Customer needs were satisfied by offering mutual funds, annuities and financial plans to existing policyholders.
