Alexei Tylevich, art director of the award winning Channel One News, gives great importance to the graphic accuracy of on-screen images. Tylevich has also designed a new typeface that enables him to work within his technical limitations. Tylevich's design is a combination of his influences, ranging from Euro information designs to seventies art films to medical illustrations. Tylevich believes that Channel One is more popular than even MTV in attracting younger audiences.

Article Abstract:
A technology called stochastic or frequency modulated (FM) screening helps to avoid the limitations of conventional halftone screening, such as the formation of moire or rosette patterns. The new technology produces better printing by changing the size and placement of the dots. However, stochastic screening software is not widely used as it is costly, unsuitable for all printers and output services and it needs sophisticated image setters.
