Marketing executives in the top information technology firms are pushing for a major restructuring of American corporations. These marketing executives are characterized by their open attitude to change and their eagerness to institute such changes. They grew up with computers and their attitudes reflect aspects of the machine such as speed and efficiency. The way they market products reflect this mode of thinking.

Marketers; what can the government do for us?

Article Abstract:

Marketing executives in the US believe the country needs a national industrial policy. A survey conducted by Chicago-based marketing research firm Leo J. Shapiro and Associates for Business Marketing shows that 53.3% of marketing executives are for a national industrial policy while 37.3% disagree. Pro-industrial policy marketers say such a policy should give focus, direction and protection to future industries.

Marketing job race heats up

Article Abstract:

Employment in the US marketing field is apparently on the uptrend. According to the latest hiring survey conducted by Sales Consultants International, 36.5% of 1,100 hiring authorities hope to increase their sales and marketing staff in the first six months of 1993. The figure is up .7 of a point from the previous six-month period's level and 7.9% higher than the 1992 benchmark.
