Agencies of change

Article Abstract:

There is no major regional development agency for the north west of England but the government plans to bring in Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) throughout England. There has been a consultation period for RDAs which are scheduled to start from 1999. Marketing Manchester is an agency with private and public sector participation which aims to market the city. Local chambers of commerce argue that RDAs should not become involved in activities already being carried out successfully by other agencies.
