Article Abstract:
Usage of EMED electronic sensors and silver-silver chloride surface electrodes for measuring the grip pressure distribution at the hand-handle interface and EMG of the finger flexor muscles under static and dynamic loading, respectively, proved useful in revealing tips of index, middle fingers and base of the thumb to be areas of high contact pressure under static grip forces. Shifting of these pressure peaks toward middle of the fingers under dynamic loading and is independent of vibration frequency and acceleration levels.

Article Abstract:
The effects of type of muscle action and the use of gloves on handgrip fatigue during sustained grip were analyzed. It was found that the use of gloves on handgrip fatigue decreased the amount of hold time which accelerates fatigue. During handgrip, eccentric muscle action can be sustained longer than isometric muscle action. Glove condition and the type of handgrip contraction influence handgrip fatigue.

Article Abstract:
The effects of 24 hour sleep deprivation and time of day in normal subject were evaluated using a brief pencil and paper letter cancellation task (LCT) and Visual Analogue Scales (VAS). The LCT and VAS were observed to be sensitive in revealing the effects of one night sleep deprivation and time of day. VAS showed that sleepiness, tiredness and energy scales were affected by time of day.
