The global economy faces may face serious threat in the year 2006. Some of the problems the global economy might face include renewed increase in oil prices, upsurges in terrorism and unresolved geographical and structural imbalances, which trouble the economy.

Mid-2004 saw a hiatus in Britain's economy recovery and reasons for the downturn are examined. Adverse global developments, upsurge in oil prices were partly responsible and it is feared that worsening public finances may lead to tax rises.
