13 'Top 100' marketers namd the best companies for working mothers

The Working Mother magazine issued in October 1992 selected 13 companies from this magazine's list of 'Top 100' marketers as the best companies for working mothers. These companies with their ranking are the Apple Computer (15), At&t (1), Dow Chemical (100), Du Pont (27), Eastman Kodak (19), Hewlett-Packard (2), IBM (3), Lotus Development (12), 3M (26), Motorola (14), Nynex (59), SAS Institute (48) and Time Warner (92). The common characteristic of these companies is the existence of a broad range of family-leave benefits which they offer to their employees.

Marketers shouldn't let a recession rain on their careers

Article Abstract:

An economic recession means tough times for everyone. However, it does not mean that marketing professionals should remain complacent. One must deal with the recession aggressively, and this means adopting both a defensive and offensive approach to career development. Developing networks within the industry, branching out in one's particular field and contacting a good recruiter will bring job opportunities. In addition, one must determine what his career goals are and concentrating efforts towards this goal.

Article Abstract:

Target marketing involves getting ahead of the competitors and providing value to buyers. The methods used in successful target marketing includes segmenting markets according to type of buyer, industry and application; profiling buyers and competitors; assessing opportunities; developing competitive advantage and strategy; and selecting target markets. These are useful in developing marketing programs that are tailored to the specific needs of the business being promoted.
